Funeral Mass will be 11 AM Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Smyrna Beach with Rev. Aldrin Nunes, C.Ss.R. as the celebrant. Memorial donations may be made to Connecticut State Police Academy Scholarship Fund, CSPAAA, P. O. Box 1945, Meriden, CT 06450 or Halifax Health Hospice, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.

Judith Ann Weiss, 78, Port Orange, a faithful and devoted wife to her husband and a most caring and loving mother to her children, went to be with the Lord on May 8, 2021. She was the daughter of Michael and Eileen Baner and was born on May 20, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY. She spent her youth growing up in Queens, NY and Willimantic, CT. Judith spent her career working as a secretary within the Employees Assistance Unit at the Connecticut State Police Dept. and also at Central Connecticut State University working for the Associate Vice President of Facilities Management before retiring to Florida. Judith was a devoted Catholic, an avid Red Sox fan and faithfully watched Jeopardy. In her leisure time she enjoyed traveling and was an avid cruiser having had the opportunity to visit many locations, always saying Australia and New Zealand were her favorites. She was also a regular at her grandchildren’s activities, always wanting to cheer them on in support. It isn’t possible to imagine someone could be a better wife, mother, nana and friend. She will be missed dearly, but we know that she will be at peace in Heaven with her friends and family. Judith is survived by her husband of 56 years, John G. Weiss; her three children, Deirdre (Joseph) Cesario, Jodie Cormier and John M. (Rebecca) Weiss; her sister and best friend, who she spoke to daily, MaryEllen Kuczuk; five granddaughters, Makayla and Morgan Cesario, Olivia Cormier and Reagan and Ryleigh Weiss and sister-in-law, Doris (David) Robinson. She also leaves behind nephews, Michael Kuczuk, previously deceased Ronald Kuczuk and David and Billy Robinson; niece Susan Robinson; numerous great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

St. Paul Catholic Church in Tampa. Fl. are delighted to announce that Fr. Kevin MacDonald, CssR, has accepted our invitation to lead us in this year’s Lenten Mission February 20-24. Father Kevin was a professional baseball player who later entered the Redemptorist missionary in order to hit home runs for the Lord! The mission will take place Monday through Wednesday, February 22-24 during the 12:15pm Mass and at 7:00pm. Please mark your calendars and join us in prayer! For more information, please go to: www.stpaulchurch.com/361

Fr. Kevin has asked our community to prepare for this year’s Lenten Mission by praying the following prayer each day:

PARISH LENTEN MISSION PRAYER
God, our Father, we offer you praise and thanksgiving for all the many gifts you have given us through Jesus, your Son. We thank you especially for the gift of our parish mission. Loving and gracious God, quiet our minds and hearts, that we may be open to the gift of your truth. Grant that our mission may be: a time of grace for all, a time of growth for the young, a time of refreshment for the old, a time of renewal for families, a time of healing for the broken, a time of joy for the sorrowing, a time of challenge for the complacent, a time of forgiveness for the sinner, a time of strength for the holy, a time of homecoming for those who have been away. Grant, most loving God, that our mission may bring down your richest blessings on each and every member of our parish community. We pray through the intercession of Mary, our mother, in the name of Jesus Christ who lives with you and the Holy Spirit forever. Amen
