National Marriage Week

National Marriage Week USA is being celebrated this year from February 7-14 and its primary purpose is to honor the Sacrament of Marriage. We invite interested parishioners to attend Mass on Saturday, February 9 at 4:00 p.m. to receive a special blessing from Fr. Tom Burke and to renew your marriage vows.

Many thanks to all!

Our Liturgy committee wishes to say thank you to all those who joined us on
our journey through Advent walking with Mary. We pray that our program has made a difference on how you will welcome Jesus our savior and we pray that it is only the beginning of our spiritual growth as a faith community. Remember to turn in your surveys if you did not already do so. A big thank you to our pastor, Fr. Tom for his vision, his challenge and his support.  The Liturgy committee

Sing We Now of Christmas!

Join us on Sunday, December 16 at 3:00 pm at Sacred Heart Church for an afternoon of musical entertainment brought to you by the Music Ministry of Sacred Heart, Our Lady Star of the Sea and St. Gerard’s. God has gifted our parishes with a diverse range of musical talent. As we take great pride in singing to the Lord all year long, on this Sunday afternoon we sing for your pleasure and enjoyment. It is our hope that your day will be enriched by our diverse program showcasing the eclectic styles of music that brings us joy.

The afternoon features the precious voices of the Sacred Heart and Our Lady Star of the Sea Children’s choir, as well as the masterful sound of the adult choirs from Sacred Heart, Our Lady Star of the Sea and St. Gerard’s.

There is no charge for the event, however, a free will offering will be taken for the benefit of our local St. Vincent de Paul Society, a 501c non-profit organization.

SACRED HEART STUDENTS LED PARISH COMMUNITY TO A BEAUTIFUL MASS

Every family is called to be a place of prayer, service, and love – a little Church of the home.  Families naturally do this day-by-day in their lives.  However, it is such a beautiful and sacred sight to see families come to Church together on Sundays just in the case of Sacred Heart Catholic School families and students especially when they lead the 9:00 AM Mass during the first Sunday of every month. The 7th grade students are assigned as lectors, readers, altar servers, gift bearers, and cantors. The very young were called to the altar to receive a blessing and celebrate the Children’s Liturgy of the Word in the Chapel led by Mrs. Genie Franklin and Mrs. Jan Martin.  Our pastor Fr. Tom Burke, C.Ss.R. welcomed the children and reiterated the special message of Jesus in ‘letting the children come to him.”

Blessing of the Animals

All kinds of animals from the typical—dogs, cats and fish to hamsters and even a pig were brought to Sacred Heart Wednesday  October 3rd to celebrate with Lou Bartos and Sacred Heart School our beloved St. Francis of Assisi, Blessing of  Animals.  All animals are very much a part of  someone’s family, and they want to be a part of the church, just like we all are. The Love we give to a pet, and receive from a pet, can draw us more deeply into the larger circle of life, into the wonder of our common relationship to our Creator. We look forward to seeing all of you next year!
