Our Catholic Appeal

Our Catholic Appeal, an annual opportunity to support the ministries of our diocese. During this unprecedented time, when so much has been and remains uncertain, your unwavering faith has demonstrated your continuing dedication to your own journey of discipleship as well as our Holy Catholic Church. Thanks to your gifts, the Diocese of Orlando is able to provide resources and services to our parish and to every Catholic parish and school in Central Florida, even in the midst of these unprecedented times. Some examples include educating 22 Seminarians in Formation, enriching over 58,000 adults and children in faith formation and sacramental preparation and supporting more than 75,000 people with food, housing, healthcare, and adoption services.

I thank all of you who have given to Our Catholic Appeal in past years. I thank you for your faithful response. We understand that each of us has been affected by the circumstances of the past year so please know that we are praying for you, and we are here to support you however we can. I simply ask that you join us in prayer and unity.

Judith Ann Weiss, 78, Port Orange, a faithful and devoted wife to her husband and a most caring and loving mother to her children, went to be with the Lord on May 8, 2021. She was the daughter of Michael and Eileen Baner and was born on May 20, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY. She spent her youth growing up in Queens, NY and Willimantic, CT. St. Paul Catholic Church in Tampa. Fl. are delighted to announce that Fr. Kevin MacDonald, CssR, has accepted our invitation to lead us in this year’s Lenten Mission February 20-24. Father Kevin was a professional baseball player who later entered the Redemptorist missionary in order to hit home runs for the Lord! The mission will take place Monday through Wednesday, February 22-24 during the 12:15pm Mass and at 7:00pm. Please mark your calendars and join us in prayer! For more information, please go to: www.stpaulchurch.com/361

Fr. Kevin has asked our community to prepare for this year’s Lenten Mission by praying the following prayer each day:

PARISH LENTEN MISSION PRAYER
God, our Father, we offer you praise and thanksgiving for all the many gifts you have given us through Jesus, your Son. We thank you especially for the gift of our parish mission. Loving and gracious God, quiet our minds and hearts, that we may be open to the gift of your truth. Grant that our mission may be: a time of grace for all, a time of growth for the young, a time of refreshment for the old, a time of renewal for families, a time of healing for the broken, a time of joy for the sorrowing, a time of challenge for the complacent, a time of forgiveness for the sinner, a time of strength for the holy, a time of homecoming for those who have been away. Grant, most loving God, that our mission may bring down your richest blessings on each and every member of our parish community. We pray through the intercession of Mary, our mother, in the name of Jesus Christ who lives with you and the Holy Spirit forever. Amen
