Remembrance for Maria Victoria “Vicky” Lostaunau
Maria Victoria “Vicky” Lostaunau passed away surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of joy, laughter, and unwavering devotion to those she cherished most.
Vicky lived a life full of warmth and humor. Her vibrant spirit lit up any room, whether through her quick wit, her playful sense of humor, or simply her naturally welcoming presence. She was funny, full of spunk, and, at times, delightfully stubborn. Every part of her personality reflected a woman who lived fully, passionately, and authentically. She was the master of sarcasm, like the time when she told a neighbor that was complaining about Micaela’s dog barking, that as much as we tried we couldn’t get Rocky, the dog to talk.
She created lasting traditions that brought family together, including her beloved birthday celebrations at The Melting Pot during her years in Atlanta. No matter how many times the tradition was repeated, it was always a special moment, uniquely hers, filled with fondue, laughter, and the love of family gathered around her.
Vicky’s heart shone brightest in her role as a grandmother. She adored each of her five grandchildren and embraced them with boundless love and enthusiasm. She was not only their grandmother but also their greatest supporter, their chauffeur, their playmate, and sometimes even their partner in mischief. She found immense joy in attending their school events, proudly cheering them on, and turning everyday moments into treasured memories. Simple routines, like picking them up from school, often turned into adventures, with surprise stops for ice cream at Bruster’s or meals at Panera. These small, loving gestures created memories her grandchildren will carry with them forever.
More recently, as she became a great-grandmother, she deeply cherished her little ones and enjoyed every moment of watching them grow and make progress.
A woman of deep compassion, Vicky was always ready to lend a helping hand. Her kind and generous spirit was strengthened by her faith in God and her unwavering devotion to her family. These qualities made her truly unforgettable.
Vicky also embraced life with a spirit of adventure. Her travels took her across the world to places such as Japan, China, Israel, and Egypt. Each destination reflected her curiosity and sense of wonder, enriching her life with stories, experiences, and wisdom she joyfully shared with others. She also treasured the many family cruises she took while living in Florida, creating lasting memories in the Caribbean with those she loved.
As we remember Vicky, we celebrate not only the life she lived but the love she gave, love expressed in laughter, in family traditions, in everyday moments, and in the countless ways she made life brighter for others. Rather than focusing on the sorrow of her passing, we honor the joy she brought into the world: the laughter she inspired, the memories she created, the lessons she taught, and the love she shared so freely.
Her courage, resilience in the face of adversity, vibrant personality, and enduring warmth form a legacy that will continue to live on in all who knew her.
Vicky always kept a cross in her pocket, a silent and personal reminder that Jesus Christ is the Lord of her life.
Vicky will be deeply missed beyond words, but her spirit will remain alive in the stories we share, the memories we cherish, and the love we carry forward.
Her life was truly a gift, and we are grateful to God for the time we were blessed to have her.
She is loved today and always.
